Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Six sugar mills out of nine in the district have received notices from the Sugarcane department for not clearing cane dues, reports The Times of India.
Bundaki and Bahadpur sugar mill in the district have paid 100 per cent dues to the farmers.
The Sugarcane department has given a deadline of 15 days to the sugar mills to clear payment.
According to the news report published in The Times of India, Bijnor cane officer Yashpal Singh said, “Two sugar mills out of nine mills in Bijnor have made 100 per cent payment to the cane farmers and one mill has paid 95.5 per cent dues for the current season. We have issued notices to six sugar mills and asked them to clear all dues immediately. However, we will wait for 15 days after which, if they fail to pay, action will be taken.”
