Aurangabad/Mumbai: Sugarcane farmers are being encouraged to produce ethanol, said Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, reports UNI.
He was speaking at a special meeting organised at Mantralaya in Mumbai on demands of farmers from Puntamba.
There has been a record sugarcane production in the state this year resulting in the record sugar output.
Elobarting the various efforts taken by state government in the interest of farmers, he said, “It has been decided to provide transport subsidy and sugar reduction extraction subsidy for crushing additional sugarcane in the crushing season of 2021-22.”
“Sugarcane growers are also being encouraged to produce ethanol, “Deputy CM further added.
