Morna, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of BKU staged demonstration outside the Morna sugar mill demanding pending cane dues among others, reports Amar Ujala.
Farmers demanded to clear the pending cane arrears on time and expand the crushing capacity of the mill. They also have demanded to start operations of the mill from October 2 for the upcoming crushing season.
Block president Vikas Chaudhari said that the mill should clear the cane dues of farmers by selling the sugar stocked in the warehouses.
Sarvendra Rathi, another leader of the organisation, said that the mill should expand its crushing capacity to ensure the crushing of the cane grown in the region.
