Chandigarh: Agriculture Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has said that the government is working at various levels to ensure that the Phagwara Sugar Mills start operations during this season and clear the pending cane dues of farmers, reports Tribune India.
He was speaking at a meeting attended by farmers over the Phagwara Sugar Mill issue.
Minister said, “Government is discussing the issue with various private players and finding a way out to run the mill. If a situation arises, the government will run the mill but will not let farmers bear any losses.”
