Amritsar: Shiromani Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia said that the sugarcane farmers are facing financial stress as they are not getting their cane dues on time.
Speaking to reporters on Friday he said that the sugar mills are not clearing the pending cane dues of the farmers on time and due to this the farmers are suffering.
He also stated that the state assured price (SAP) fixed by the state government was less than that of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh which was also affecting the cane farmers.
