Sugar shortage disrupting production lines: Coca-Cola Philippines

Manila: Sugar shortage is affecting the production capacity of the beverages, said Coca-Cola Beverages Philippines Inc. (CCPBI), reported Philstar.

Company in a released statement said that shortage of Bottler’s Grade sugar is hampering the production.

“CCBPI confirms that the shortage of Bottler’s Grade sugar is affecting the capacity of some of our bottling plants to produce some products,” it said.

Atty Juan Lorenzo Tanada, director for corporate & regulatory Affairs of CCBPI told the senators that they have received 10,000 metric tons of sugar from Sugar Order No.3 and need additional sugar to work at a normal pace.

“We are trying our best to minimize supply disruption caused due to sugar shortage,” said CCBPI.

“We are working with the government and the sugar industry to find a solution that would benefit the small retailers that rely on our products for their livelihood,” CCBPI further added.
