Maharajganj: Sugarcane department has launched a drive to identify fake farmers to ensure that the farmers get supply tickets without any inconvenience, reports Livehindustan.
The department will initiate action against the farmers that are landless or have provided false information regarding cane cultivation.
The department has conducted a survey of the area under cane cultivation for the 2022-23 season and the farmers provided their Aadhar cards, Bank passbook, and mobile numbers along with the declaration form. The department will identify the fake farmers and those involved in illegally getting supply tickets.
District cane officer Omprakash Singh Yadav said, “We have launched the drive to ensure that the farmers don’t face any problem in sending their cane to the mill for crushing. Some farmers are unable to send their cane to the mill due to non-availability of supply tickets and the drive will resolve this issue.”
