Chandigarh: Sugar mills in Haryana will start cane crushing operations in the first week of November, said Cooperation Minister Banwari Lal.
He asked all the mills to complete the preparations by October end and be ready to start cane crushing. The state has set a target of crushing 500 lakh quintals of cane this season.
The minister had convened a meeting of the Cooperative Federation on Tuesday during which he issued directions to the concerned authorities to ensure that the cane crushing operations are completed without any interruption.
