New Delhi: The area under wheat cultivation for the ongoing rabi season is 54,000 hectares, as per the data released by the agriculture ministry, reports Business-standard. This is 54 per cent more than the same period last year
Wheat sowing starts in October for the rabi season and is harvested in March-April. As per the data released by the government, wheat sowing is going on in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir.
In UP, wheat is grown in around 39,000 hectares, in Uttarakhand, it is grown in around 9000 hectares, in Rajasthan around 2,000 hectares and in Jammu & Kashmir, it is grown in 1000 hectares.
