Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy said that the ‘Digital India’ program of the Government of India is a major program to transform India into a digitally empowered society and knowledge based economy. It is the result of Hon’ble Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath taking a pledge to change the image of the State through digital revolution and to spread technology in rural areas that Cane farmers are becoming smart and hi-tech and getting their sugarcane marketing related information at home through smart phones. This is era of digital revolution and positively affecting all the sectors of the society. There is a constant demand for digital solutions in the agriculture sector. It is the aim of the Cane Development Department to provide information at the right time to the sugarcane farmers through innovative services with a view to fulfilling this goal, establishing transparency and facilitating the system of Cane supply of sugarcane farmers, Only SMS Ganna Purchi is being sent on the registered mobile of cane farmers in the crushing season 2022-23.
Cane Commissioner has also appealed to the sugarcane farmers that they should check their mobile number, registered on Smart Ganna Kishan(SGK), if the mobile number is incorrect, then they should update their mobile number by contact the concerning cane supervisor or secretary of there society. Further he said that if SMS Inbox of mobile is full, mobile switched off, out of network area or DND is activated then the SMS of Ganna Purchi will be automatically cancelled after 24 hours. Due to which the Cane farmers will not be able to get their S.M.S. Ganna Purchi. So all the farmer are requested to keep their mobile charged, inbox empty and Do not activate DND on their mobile number to get the Ganna Purchi on time.
He also said that this process of SMS Ganna Purchi is completely transparent and the farmers are immediately getting their Ganna Purchi under this system due to the timely receipt of the Ganna Purchi, the farmers are supplying their sugarcane to the sugar mills on time and also saving from the loss due to drying of sugarcane on other hand sugar mills also get fresh cane to crush. The farmers of the State have also got rid of the Cane mafia, Purchi snatching, tearing and washing etc.
It is also worth mentioning that in this system, all the information is being made available to the sugarcane farmers by sitting at home through the online portals www.caneup.in and E-Ganna App. About 10 lakh S.M.S. Ganna Purchi have been issued on the base mode of the calendar for 42 sugar mills those are issuing indents, out of which about 32 thousand Purchi have also been issued to small farmers on the base mode of the calendar.
