Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda has demanded the Haryana government to increase the state-approved price (SAP) for sugarcane for the 2022-23 season to Rs 400 per quintal.
The state government has fixed SAP for cane at Rs 362 per quintal for this season.
“The input cost of the farmer is increasing continuously and now even petroleum products are being made from the residue of sugarcane,” he added.
