Mahakaushal Agricorp India to set up a distillery in Prayagraj

Prayagraj will have its first distillery by end of 2024 as the Mahakaushal Agricorp India would set up a sugarcane distillery plant at Berabari village of Bara block of Prayagraj, reports The Times of India.

The plant spread over 40 acres of land will be supported by a three MW husk-based power plant. The company will upload the excess electricity generated at the plant to the state power grid.

The company has taken steps to ensure zero liquid discharge by setting up a sewage treatment plant of 25 kld capacity.

Around 250 crores will be spent to set up the plant and the company will expand the project further depending on the demand in future.
