Roorkee, Uttarakhand: Sugarcane farmers have demanded to increase the crushing capacity of the Iqbalpur sugar mill from the existing 43,000 quintals to 50,000 quintals, reports Live Hindustan.
Sunil Dhingra, sugarcane manager of the mill, said that the mill is daily crushing 43,000 quintals of cane and the management is taking all the possible steps to assist farmers.
Farmers are stating that they want to speed up the cane-crushing operations so that they could clear their fields to take up wheat cultivation for the next season.
