Police rescue 10 workers from sugarcane fields in Hassan

A team from Hassan police station rescued 10 people including five children that were working in sugarcane fields without getting any pay and basic amenities, reports The Hindu.

All the rescued workers are from Ambur city in Tamil Nadu. According to Channarayapatna Police, they received information at around 8 am on Saturday from the Legal Service Authority about these people working without pay in the cane fields. The police immediately rushed to the area and rescued them including five children. They were working in these fields for the last two months.

Police also arrested the three accused. All were presented before the district magistrate for further action.
