The sugar prices in domestic market has been reduced as imports have arrived in the country increasing the supply of the sweetener ahead of Yuletide season.
The average retail price of refined sugar in Metro Manila markets fell by a peso to P100.495 per kg on November 25 from P101.08, the preceding week, states the report from Sugar Regulatory Authority (SRA).
As per the data, around 99.99% (149,976.26 metric tons of the authorized 150,000 MT) of sugar has entered the country.
The average price of refined sugar in supermarkets in Metro Manila fell from P101.02 per kg to P102.13 per kg, according to the SRA data. The prices of sugar sold in wet markets declined from P100.14 per kg to P98.86 per kg.
