Fatehgarh Sahib: Sugarcane farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Ekta Sidhupur) have demanded the immediate release of the pending cane dues, reports Tribune India.
Jasbir Singh, district president of the organization said, “Sugar mill in Amloh promised payment of Rs 15,000 per acre to the farmers if they grew sugarcane but it later did not pay the amount. The sugar mills should immediately clear pending cane dues, else the farmers will launch an agitation for their demands.”
