Aurangabad: All the 20 members of the panel led by BJP’s three-time MLA Prashant Bamb lost the Gangapur cooperative sugar mill election, reports Times of India.
The election was swept by the ‘Shivshahi Shetkari Vikas’ panel led by Shiv Sena (UBT) district vice-president Krishna Patil-Dongaonkar.
The mill has been defunct since 2008 and farmers are demanding a revival of the mill. Since 2015, the Bamb-led panel has won all 20 seats assuring the mill to start operations. For the past eight years, Bamb was chairman of the mill but the farmers were upset as the mill failed to revive operations.
