Delegates from foreign countries visit National Sugar Institute

Kanpur: A team of 17 foreign delegates visited the National Sugar Institute, Kanpur to study the working of the institute and find out the possible areas of mutual interests, reports The Times of India.

The delegates are from institutes and sugar mills from the USA, Australia, Belgium, Mauritius, Philippines, Colombia, Uganda, and France.
Narendra Mohan, Director of the NSI welcomed them and gave a presentation about the activities in the institute.

The delegates appreciated the self-sustained model of the sugar industry developed by the NSI. The delegates from the Philippines and Uganda have shown interest in this model that can be implemented in their respective countries.

These delegates also showed interest in setting up such institutes in their countries.

They visited various laboratories and other facilities including Experimental Sugar Factory, Ethanol and Beer Unit, and Specialty Sugar Factory, and were acquainted with the ongoing research in the institute.
