Minister performs bhoomi puja for land levelling works for proposed ethanol plant

Jagtial, Telangana: The work began at a site on the outskirts of Sthambhampalli village in Vegatoor mandal of Jagtial district for setting up an ethanol plant, reports The Hindu.

The Bhoomi puja for the land levelling works at the proposed site was done by the Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar. The plant will be set up under the guidance of Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited (KRIBHCO).

According to the media report, the State government has earmarked 100 acres of government land and allocated ₹13 crore for the land levelling works to facilitate setting up of a ₹700-crore ethanol plant with a capacity to produce 8 crore litres of ethanol per annum

The raw material required for ethanol production will be rice, rice straw, rice husk, rice bran, corn and maize. Jagtial district is one of the major producers of paddy, maize and corn in the state.

“The joint venture between the KRIBHCO and the State government would be beneficial for the local farmers and will provide jobs for the unemployed youths in the Jagtial district,” said Minster Eshwar after launching the land levelling works.
