Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: District Magistrate BK Tripathi reviewed the cane payment done by the sugar mills for the 2022-23 season as well as the area under cane cultivation for the 2023-24 season, reports Live Hindustan.
He has asked the sugar mills to ensure that they clear cane bills of farmers within 14 days of crushing their produce. The mills have been asked to ensure that they clear 100 per cent of the cane dues of the farmers in time. The mills have so far cleared 88% of the cane dues to the farmers (Rs 1262.93 crore out of Rs 1433.79 crore).
DM has asked the concerned authorities to ensure that the mills clear the cane dues of farmers.
