National Sugar Institute has been ranked second amongst all the organizations of Department of Food & Public Distribution, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Government of India for the exemplary cleanliness drive taken up during the “Swachhata Pakhwada’s” in the year 2022 and 2023. Shri Sanjiv Chopra, Secretary (Food & Public Distribution), Government of India gave away the awards to Director, National Sugar Institute in a ceremony at Krishi Bhawan, New Delhi.
Shri Sanjiv Chopra, Secretary (Food & Public Distribution) while congratulating the winners advised the officials to take up cleanliness activity as a habit and must devote three hours every week especially for such activities. Quoting National Sugar Institute, he said, winning of award year by year is a measure of continuous efforts and should be an example for others.
We not only worked for maintaining cleanliness in the institute campus but also created lot of awareness in sugar industry and society as a whole about important of Swachhata, informed Shri Narendra Mohan, Director, while extending thanks to the ministry officials. Due to sustainable and continuous efforts of the institute, today the Indian sugar industry is more cleaner and greener having efficient solid-liquid waste management.
