Kolhapur: Voting for the 21-member body of the Rajaram Sugar Mill has caught the eyes of all the politicians and two scions have locked horns against each other to win the election, reports The Times of India.
The three-week high-voltage campaigning ended on Friday and the members of the sugar mill will exercise their right to vote on Sunday.
The campaigning ended with the arch-rivals- Satej Patil and Mahadevrao Mahadik holding rallies in their respective stronghold regions.
BJP Leader Mahadik has been holding the reins of the sugar mill for the last 28 years. In the 2015 elections, Patil’s panel lost by a thin margin to the Mahadik panel.
Victory for Patil’s panel would be a defining moment in the district’s politics, according to political commentators.
