Equity benchmark indices pared opening gains and were trading marginally lower in a highly volatile trade on Thursday.
The 30-share BSE Sensex declined 19.93 points to 61,920.27 points in early trade. The NSE Nifty fell 15.05 points to 18,300.05 points
At 10:17 am, Sensex gained 64.07 points to 62,004.27 points, whereas Nifty was trading 15.05 points up at 18,330.15.
ITC, Bharti Airtel, Nestle, Tata Steel and Tata Motors were among the laggards. However, NTPC, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance, Wipro and State Bank of India were trading in the positive territory.
