Farmers can supply more sugarcane to mills after supply limit increased

Moradabad: Sugarcane farmers will be now able to supply more cane to the mills for crushing as the sugarcane commissioner has increased the supply limit for crop, reports Live Hindustan.

Earlier the cane farmers owning one hectare of land were allowed to supply 850 quintals of cane which has been increased to 900 quintals. Farmers having up to two hectares of land will be able to supply 1800 quintals of cane as against 1700 quintals.

Considering the cane recovery for the last five years the basic quota for the 2023-24 crushing season has been prepared. The cane harvesting priority will be given to the farmers using a drip irrigation system.
