Southwest monsoon likely to advance to the Bay of Bengal in 4 days: IMD

New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the southwest monsoon is likely to advance further to the parts of the Bay of Bengal and Maldives in the next three to four days, according to ivemint.com.

The IMD further added that a fresh western disturbance is likely to sweep across northwest India till Thursday.

This could bring light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms and gusty winds over the parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms are likely to occur over Delhi in the next 24 hours.

Agromet, crop advisory of IMD has issued guidelines to the farmers of Haryana and Punjab to complete the sowing of paddy nurseries using recommended varieties in the advised period.
