Mysuru: Mysugar mill in Mandya will ensure this season that sugarcane farmers get paid within 14 days of their crop procurement, reports The Hindu.
Patil Appa Saheb, Managing Director of the sugar mill said, “Sugarcane after harvesting will be crushed within 24 hours. As many as 3,500 labourers including 1,000 local labourers have been deployed in the region for harvesting sugarcane. Patil said that out of the remaining labourers, 1000 are from Ballari and 500 each are from Maharashtra, Vijayapura and Jharkhand.”
“The sugar mill will clear cane bills of farmers within 14 days of procuring their crop. We appeal to farmers to send quality cane to the mill instead of supplying it to the private sugar mills in the region,” said Patil.
