The sugarcane conference provides opportunities for the Fiji Sugar industry to collaborate with other countries, said Permanent Secretary for Sugar Yogesh Karan, reports Fbcnews.
The 2nd International Conference on Cane and Sugar has been organised in Thailand. Reshmi Kumari, Director of Policy, Planning and Research at the Sugar Ministry is attending the conference as she is being invited as a keynote speaker by the President of Thailand Society of Sugar Cane Technologies.
Experts from India, Vietnam, Japan, Pakistan, Brazil and Nigeria will also be present at the Conference.
Kumari will explore ways to partner with Thailand’s sugar industry and universities to boost Fiji’s sugar sector.
The theme of the conference is “Towards BCG Economy; Smart Farm to Bio-Industry”.
