Pakka to set up bagasse-based packaging plant in sugarcane-rich Guatemala

Pakka, a leading regenerative packaging solutions firm, has announced its plans to establish a state-of-the-art bagasse-based packaging paper plant in Guatemala, South America, reports PTI. The facility is expected to have a production capacity of 400 tonnes per day.

The company set up in 1981 as Yash Papers will be investing Rs 2,056 crore (USD 250 million) for the project. It is also expanding the capacity of its Ayodhya plant from 130 tonne/day to 230 tonne/day by investing Rs 550 crore.

Jagdeep Hira, managing director of the company said, “We will be investing USD 250 million to set up a 400-tonne pr day bagasse-based plant in Guatemala and are in the process of identifying land in the country. We need around 90 acres for a Greenfield plant of this scale.”
