Amroha: Farmers worry as ‘Pokkah Boeng’ infects sugarcane crops

Amroha: Sugarcane farmers in the district are worried as the crops are being infected by the Pokkah Boeng halting their growth, reports Live Hindustan.

Farmers have stated that despite spraying insecticides, the spread of the diseases continues and they are experiencing the loss of the crop due to infections.

The agriculture department has inspected the cane crops and has issued instructions to the cane farmers to spray insecticides to keep a check on the spread of the disease.

District sugarcane officer Manoj Kumar said that the teams have been sent to examine the type of disease and based on their inference steps will be taken to control the disease.
