Domestic Market

Sugar prices reported higher

The price of domestic sugar was reported to be higher in the major markets. On the eve of Shravan, there was strong stockist demand in North India. Shravan in Maharashtra and South India will begin next week, which is expected to keep demand high. Prices in the major markets were reported to be Rs 10-20 per quintal higher. S grades were priced between Rs 3,490 and Rs 3,520 in Kolhapur, while M grades in Muzaffarnagar were priced between Rs 3,640 and Rs 3,680.

According to AgriMandi.live, S grade is expected to cost between Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,550 per quintal in Kolhapur markets.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $699.00 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 24.34 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 82.174 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.7866, Crude futures traded at ₹6314, Crude WTI traded at $76.74 barrel. Sensex closed 502.01 points higher at 66060.90 whereas Nifty ended 150.75 points higher at 19564.50
