Haryana: Flood causes loss to sugar mill

Shahabad, Haryana: The floods in the district have damaged the sugar stocks of the sugar mill worth crores of rupees as the water entered the warehouses of the mill, reports Dainik Tribune online.

Heavy rainfall in the district has led to an increase in the water level of the Markanda River, which has entered the premises of sugar mill and damaged the machinery, furniture, computers as well as sugar in the warehouse. The water had entered the colony of the sugar mill five days ago and the water level continued to increase since then.

Rajiv Prasad, MD of the sugar mill said that all are helpless due to the floods and water entering inside the sugar mill. We have set up a camp at the rest house and are providing essentials required at the camp on a priority basis, he said.
