Domestic Market

Sugar prices remained stable, and demand was lower.

Domestic sugar prices were reported to be stable in major markets for the fourth session in a row. Demand is reportedly low due to significant rainfall activity and a truck shortage. Trading activity has been somewhat impacted by the protracted, heavy rains in Maharashtra. S grades in Kolhapur cost between Rs 3,480 and Rs 3,520, while M grades in Muzaffarnagar cost between Rs 3,630 and Rs 3,670.

According to AgriMandi.live, the price of S grade will be between Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,550 per quintal in the Kolhapur markets.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $686.50 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 24.45 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 81.984 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.8033, Crude futures traded at ₹6285, Crude WTI traded at $76.62 barrel. Sensex closed 887.64 points lower at 66684.26 whereas Nifty ended 234.15 points lower at 19745.00
