Malda, West Bengal: North Bengal region in the state will be having the largest ethanol plant worth Rs 300 crore, reports Millennium Post.
The plant would be spread over 52 acres of land and would generate direct employment for 500 people.
The factory is likely to start operations within 8 months, according to the factory authorities.
Rajendra Jain, one of the owners of the factory said, “Around 600 tonnes of rice or maize will be used as a raw material every day. The annual requirement for the plant will be 2 lakh tons of maize and rice. We want the support of locals to supply raw materials for the factory.”
This will benefit more than 10,000 farmers from Murshidabad, Malda, and North, and South Dinajpur that would supply rice and maize to the factory.
That’s a great news. Malda will become the industrial hub now. The silk and Khadi market is getting down which needs to be taken care by the government to support the Artisans.
