Saharanpur: Farmers under the banner of Bhartiya Kisan Union Tomar have demanded the government to release their pending cane dues from the sugar mills, reports Live Hindustan.
The issue was raised in a monthly meeting of the members organized in district headquarters that was presided over by District President Abhishek Kamboj.
Kamboj has threatened to launch an agitation if the mill fails to clear the cane dues of farmers.
Regional head Jitendra Singh said that the government should conduct a survey of the crops damaged due to heavy rainfall and floods and provide compensation to the farmers on a priority basis.
