Domestic Market

Steady to firm sentiment in domestic sugar prices

Domestic sugar prices have been stable to positive due to strong demand. Despite the increased quotas, prices were reported to be Rs 10-20 per quintal higher in Maharashtra on lesser supply. Prices in Kolhapur and Kolkata rose by Rs 20 per quintal, while markets in Muzaffarnagar and Delhi remained stable.

In Kolhapur, S-grade costs between Rs 3,480 and Rs 3,520, while M-grade costs between Rs 3,640 and Rs 3,680 in Uttar Pradesh.

According to AgriMandi.live, the price of S grade is expected to trade in the Kolhapur markets in the near future between Rs 3,440 and Rs 3,550 per quintal.

International Market

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $681.30 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 23.92 c/lb.

Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices

The rupee traded against the US dollar at 82.255 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.7250, Crude futures traded at ₹6692, Crude WTI traded at $81.42 barrel. Sensex closed 367.47 points higher at 66527.67 whereas Nifty ended 107.75 points higher at 19753.80
