Bhartiya Kisan Sangh demands to increase sugarcane price

Shamli, Uttar Pradesh: In a bid to address the pressing concerns of farmers, the Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) has demanded the government to set the sugarcane price at Rs 450 per quintal. This plea comes amidst growing calls for better support and fair compensation in the agricultural sector.

Under the banner of BKS, a delegation of farmers recently met with District Collector Ravindra Singh, delivering a meticulously prepared memorandum outlining their demands. The memorandum, addressed to the Chief Minister, underscores the need of increasing sugarcane prices to ensure the prosperity of the farming community.

Dharmendra, the district unit head, spearheaded the delegation, asserting that it is not just a matter of sugarcane prices. The BKS further called for the government’s attention to address key aspects of farmer welfare, including providing free electricity for agricultural purposes and fulfilling previous promises made to uplift the farming community.
