Deoband (Saharanpur): Heated argument during the distribution of fertilisers turned violent resulting in farmers assaulting the cane officer and locking him in the warehouse. The other officers, however, calmed the farmers and released the officer from their clutches. A complaint in this regard has been filed with the local police station.
As per the complaint, the cane officer identified as Harsha Parya is attached with Co-operative sugarcane development committee located at Railway Road. On Thursday, when he was busy in distributing fertilizers to the farmers at a warehouse, five farmers stormed into the office and obstructing the work demanded that they should get fertilizers first. When the officer denied delivering them fertilizers, they attacked him. They broke the furniture in the office including POS machine and damaged the paper record from office. They later locked him inside the warehouse. The other officers present at the spot managed to bring the situation under control and released the officer.
