Puranpur, Uttar Pradesh: The area under cane cultivation in Puranpur has increased by 2.46% compared to the preceding season, according to Amarujala.
Last year sugarcane was cultivated on 21,607.276 hectares in the Puranpur region which has increased to 22,139.782 hectares this season. The average sugarcane yield has also increased to 25 quintals per acre.
The sugarcane grown in the Puranpur region is allocated to the LH Sugar Mill in Pilibhit, Gulriya Sugar Mill, Barkheda Sugar Mill, and Sampurnanagar Sugar Mill, apart from the Puranpur area. The Puranpur Cooperative Committee has 33,600 sugarcane members.
In the Pilibhit LH Sugar Mill region, 9,461 hectares of area is under cane cultivation, 8,781 hectares in the Puranpur Sugar Mill region, 2,488 hectares in the Gulriya Sugar Mill region, 1,299 hectares in the Barakheda Sugar Mill area, and 109 hectares in the Sampurnanagar Sugar Mill area. This year, sugarcane is being cultivated on 8,700 hectares in the Puranpur Sugar Mill area. Other sugar mill areas have also seen an increase in sugarcane cultivation compared to last year.
