Ajjree Engineering, which supplies parts to sugar mills, to support future space missions of ISRO

Kolhapur: Ajjree Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd, a specialty engineering company, that has been supplying various parts to sugar mills for the last 46 years, is set to play a critical role in the future space missions of ISRO as the Bengaluru-based company on Monday handed over the first batch of “space-qualified heat pipes,” an important component in satellites, to the UR Rao Satellite Centre, ISRO.

Mr. Basavvraaj B. Ajrri, Managing Director, Ajjree Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd., said, “This is a significant milestone for us. Components of a satellite are not easy to innovate and produce to meet all technical and quality requirements. We are thankful to ISRO for guiding us in delivering these heat pipes at the highest quality. We are proud to be part of future space missions of ISRO.”

Ajjree Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd. has set up a manufacturing unit at Jigani Industrial Area, Bengaluru, to produce space-qualified heat pipes. It is only the second company approved by ISRO to supply such pipes to the UR Rao Satellite Centre. The company’s products undergo stringent testing at its testing centre in Jigani. Paras Defence and Space Technologies Ltd. is a strategic partner in this project and has invested 5.5 crore INR in Ajjree Engineering Industries Pvt. Ltd.

On the same occasion, a team from ISRO that was part of the successful launch of Chandrayaan 3, was felicitated by the company. The guests of honor from the URSC-ISRO included Mr. M. Sankaran, Director; Dr. Alok Kumar Shrivastava, Associate Director; Mrs. Anjali Ellis Shanker, Controller; Dr. Sriram KV, Director, LEOS; Mr. Suresh Kumar H. N., Deputy Director; Mr. Basavaraj S. Akkimaradi, Deputy Director; Mr. Rajendra A, Group Director, Thermal Systems Group; and Mr. Sudheer Kumara N, Director, CBPO-ISRO Hq.

Speaking after felicitating them, Mr. Basavvraaj B Ajrri, said, “Placing the Vikram rover on the south pole of the Moon for the first time has permanently etched our country’s name in space history. No other country has achieved this feat and all credit goes to ISRO and its dedicated team members. We are extremely indebted to them forever.”

Mr. Anish Mehta, Director, Paras Defence & Space Technologies Ltd, was also present on the occasion.

Ajjree Engineering also has offices in Kolhapur, and with this accomplishment, the company has instilled a sense of pride throughout the entirety of Kolhapur.
