Moradabad: The Triveni Sugar Mill Raninangal, the only sugar mill in the Thakurdwara tehsil area, is set to increase its crushing capacity from 55,000 to 65,000 quintals per day in first phase, reported Live Hindustan.
A team from Lucknow inspected the mill on Sunday and reviewed the preparations for the crushing season.
Mill vice-president V Venkatarathnam said that the second phase of the expansion will see the crushing capacity increase to 1 lakh tonnes per day.
District sugarcane officer directed officials to ensure that the mill’s machinery and equipment were repaired in time for the crushing season.
The mill’s management said that it is working with farmers in the area to increase sugarcane production to meet the increased crushing capacity.
