Dhanbad: Sales of alternative fuel vehicles have surged in Dhanbad, India, as people seek to reduce their environmental impact, reported Live Hindustan.
Electric vehicles are the most popular type of alternative fuel vehicle in Dhanbad, with a total of 4,821 registered as of September 2023. This year, 1,903 electric vehicles were sold in the city. Electric scooters are the most popular type of electric vehicle in Dhanbad, but the number of electric cars is also growing.
As per news report in Live Hindustan, hybrid fuel vehicles are also in high demand, with 559 diesel hybrid vehicles and 2,246 petrol hybrid vehicles registered in Dhanbad as of September 2023. This year, 719 petrol hybrid vehicles were registered. Ethanol-powered vehicles are also gaining popularity, with 286 such vehicles registered in Dhanbad as of September 2023.
Compressed natural gas (CNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) vehicles are also becoming more common in Dhanbad. As of September 2023, there were 833 CNG vehicles and 537 petrol-CNG vehicles registered in the city. Most of these vehicles are passenger vehicles. There are also 12 LPG-powered vehicles registered in Dhanbad.
