Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane farmers staged demonstration against Bilai sugar mill for pending cane dues. As the new sugarcane season approaches, upset farmers have decided not to supply their sugarcane to Bilai’s mill, reported Amar Uajla.
In a meeting of sugarcane committees, farmers from around 40 villages expressed their demand to shift procurement centers from Bilai sugar mill to other mills.
Satyaveer Singh, the District President of the BKU said, “Payment of the sugarcane price is a prerequisite for allowing the operation of Bilai mill’s procurement center. If payment is not made, the procurement center should not be allowed to function”
