Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh: The issue of pending sugarcane payments loomed large at Vikas Bhavan yesterday. Farmers expressed their opposition to supplying sugarcane to Baheri sugar mill and urged that it be directed to Meeraganj sugar mill in the upcoming crushing season. They also demand the settlement of outstanding dues with interest, reported Amar Ujala.
At the Vikas Bhavan on Wednesday, representatives of various farmer organizations raised concerns over the unfilled road potholes leading to sugar mills and the delayed payments for sugarcane.
Farmers demanded that the procurement centre for Baheri sugar mill be shifted to Meeraganj Mill.
