National Unity Day celebrated with enthusiasm at NSI on Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary

Birth anniversary of India’s first Home Minister Shri Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was celebrated as National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with full enthusiasm at National Sugar Institute, Kanpur.

After paying floral tributes, Prof. Narendra Mohan, Director, National Sugar Institute, addressing the staff and students, he said, Shri Vallabhbhai Patel was a symbol of strength and unity and was dubbed “Sardar” (chief) and “Iron Man” for his leadership skills in leading the country through the struggle for independence and beyond. His notable contribution also came during the integration of the princely states and also the first India-Pakistan war.

A “Run for Unity” was also organized on this occasion to symbolize the unification of the nation and spread message of “Together we can and we will” wherein large number of students and staff participated.
