Zabreda: Iqbalpur sugar mill in Uttarakhand began its crushing season on Sunday with a puja at the weighbridge, reported Live Hindustan.
Pandit Shashidharan Sharma performed the puja, which was attended by mill owner Shreya Sahni, mill officials, and workers.
Sahni urged farmers in the region to supply sugarcane without hesitation. She said that the mill is working to pay farmers for their sugarcane that was delivered in the previous season.
The mill is expected to crush 60,000 tonnes of sugarcane this season.
It was attended by several dignitaries, including Mill General Manager Naresh Pal Rathi, B.N. Chaudhary, Sugarcane Manager Om Pal Singh, and Finance GM Parmjeet Singh, as well as mill employees.
