Ashwini Srivastava has been appointed as Joint Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution. He is a 1998 batch IRTS officer. Consequent upon his appointment, work allocation/ re-allocation at the level of Additional Secretary/ Senior Economic Adviser/ Joint Secretary/ in the Department of Food & Public Distribution is ordered with immediate effect and until further orders.
As per order on December 05, 2023, Ashwini Srivastava Joint Secretary (Sugar) has been allocated matters relating to sugar, sugar price policy, monitoring of cane price arrears, fixation of margins for States and distribution of sugar through PDS, litigation matters relating to above work. Matters pertaining to Sugar Development Fund Act, 1982, i.e. subsidy on buffer stock of sugar, loans of sugar factories for modernization, rehabilitation of plant and machinery, cogeneration, ethanol projects and for cane development, grant to institutions for research work connected with sugar industry. Matters relating to NSI, Kanpur and Directorate of Sugar.
Previous to him, Anita Karn was Joint Secretary(Sugar), Additional Charge.
