Indian benchmark indices ended higher in the volatile session on December 8.
Sensex ended 303.91 points up at 69,825.60, whereas Nifty concluded 68.25 points higher at 20,969.40.
Indian rupee ended at 83.39 per dollar versus previous close of 83.35.
Equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty had advanced in opening trade today.
HCL Technologies, JSW Steel, LTIMindtree, Apollo Hospitals and Infosys were among the top gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Adani Enterprises, ITC, Adani Ports, Hero MotoCorp and Britannia Industries.
