Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh: District Magistrate Monika Rani conducted a review of the outstanding dues for sugarcane prices from the previous season and pending cane dues for the sugar mills in the district for the 2023-24 crushing season. Stressing the immediate settlement of sugarcane prices, she asked sugar mills to clear cane payment, reported Live Hindustan.
As per news report, the District Cane Officer stated that, from August until now, a payment of ₹15 crores has been made by Chilwaria sugar mill. DM deemed it insufficient, issuing directives for the prompt clearance of pending sugarcane prices.
In a meeting sugarcane prices and pending cane dues was discussed. DM, present at the meeting, directed the advisors and chief executives of the sugar mills to operate the mills with a focus on the farmers’ interests, ensuring timely payments for sugarcane prices. The meeting also addressed the review of retro-reflective tape and paint application on vehicles used for sugarcane transportation.
