Utraula: Ajay Sharma, managing director of the Bajaj Sugar Mills Group, visited the Utraula sugar mill on Saturday, reported Live Hindustan.
During his visit, Sharma met with farmers at the cane yard and urged them to sow improved varieties of sugarcane in larger areas. He said that the mill is unable to crush as much sugarcane as it can due to a shortage of sugarcane supply. This has led to the mill incurring losses.
Sharma also said that all farmers have been paid for their sugarcane from the previous crushing season. Payment for the new crushing season has also begun. He appealed to farmers to supply as much clean, peeled sugarcane as possible to help the mill.
