JDW Sugar Mills Limited (JDWS), a prominent manufacturer of crystalline sugar, has stated plans to establish an ethanol distillery, as declared by its Board of Directors (BoD), reported Brecorder.
The announcement was made through a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Wednesday.
The notice stated, “The board has resolved to set up an ethanol/distillery project having a per-day production capacity of 200,000-230,000 liters.” The company highlighted that the ethanol/distillery project would be state-of-the-art, producing export-quality ethanol using its in-house available sugar molasses.
The notice indicated that the ethanol project aims to achieve a Commercial Operation Date (COD) by January 2025, contingent upon meeting all corporate and regulatory requirements.
Established in 1990 under the Companies Ordinance, 1984, JDWS transitioned into a public limited company in 1991. The company’s operations encompass the production and sale of crystalline sugar, electricity generation, and the management of corporate farms.
